ROLAND JD-990 SYNTHESIZER MODULE
The JD-990 is a powerful and versatile synthesizer module that offers a wide range of features for musicians and producers. With 195 high-quality PCM waveforms from the JD-800 engine, including synth sounds, processed samples, one-shot and looped waveforms, you can create an almost unlimited variety of sounds with PCM filtering and processing, including ring modulation and oscillator sync.
You can play the JD-990 in three different modes – Performance, Patch, or Rhythm Set, depending on your needs. In Patch mode, it functions like a standard synth sound expansion module, while in Performance mode, it becomes a multi-timbral sound source. The large display provides high-resolution screens for intuitive editing and allows you to check on all the pertinent parameters at once.
With four different stereo outputs, including MIX OUT and DIRECT OUT 1, 2 and 3, the JD-990 gives you the capability to do sophisticated mixing by outputting each sound from a different jack and applying outboard effects independently. You can work from two different types of editing screens – the regular one for detailed editing and the new Palette screen for displaying all the Tone settings of one parameter at once. Switching between screens is effortless, making editing a breeze.
The JD-990 comes with a powerful DSP chip built-in. This provides a wide variety of effects capabilities that can be freely adjusted and inserted into the effects chain. The eight on-board effects include a three-band graphic equalizer, distortion, phaser, spectrum, enhancer, chorus, delay, and reverb. You can even add more sounds to the JD-990 by installing an Expansion Board. There are also slots provided for bringing in sound data from conventional DAT A Cards or PCM Cards.
