The VG-8 uses Composite Object Sound Modeling (COSM) technology to combine “sound objects” — guitar bodies, pickups, and amplifiers — into faithful reproductions of iconic guitar and amp combinations, playable on any steel-stringed guitar equipped with a Roland GK-2A pickup. A built-in polyphonic pitch shifter lets you create 12-string guitar sounds and open tunings with ease, while Variable Guitar Modeling (VGM) technology gives access to multiple sound object models spanning guitars, pickups, amps, cabinets, microphones, and mic placement. Harmonic Restructure Modeling (HRM) lets you create unique synth-like sounds, and with no tracking delay, the VG-8 converts the waveform produced by each string into a new sound in real time. With 128 preset patches and 64 user patches, plus included patch editing software for Windows, the VG-8 offers deep customization for any style of music.
