Roland VG-88 V-Guitar System
The VG-88 uses advanced COSM technology to faithfully simulate the sonic qualities of the world’s greatest guitars and amps, going beyond guitar modeling to include overdriven amp sounds, tube amp tones, and nylon-string, brass, and synth-like textures — all playable on a standard electric guitar equipped with a GK-2A or compatible pickup (sold separately). A GK-Ready 13-pin input plus 1/4″ guitar input give direct access to amp/speaker modeling sections, and hollow-body and acoustic guitar models sit alongside natural tube amp models and Harmonic Restructure Modeling (HRM) for creating synth-type sounds with natural playing nuances and no delay. A combination guitar output/GK pickup output enables entirely new sound types, and a Polyphonic Intelligent Pitch Shifter handles instant open tunings, 12-string guitar, bass guitar tones, and slow gear effects. Reverb, chorus, hexa-pan, delay, flanger, and parametric EQ round out the onboard effects, all accessible through an intuitive interface with an onboard expression pedal and an Output Select switch for conventional guitar amps or power amps.
